Congratulations to our Volunteer, Alana - recipient of the 2018 Minister's Medal - Patient/Family/Caregiver Champion. Alana was awarded this honour yesterday at the Health Quality Transformation Conference in Toronto. She was nominated for seeing a need in the community. Alana was a visiting volunteer and saw that her clients wanted to tell their stories. Alana developed the Legacy program, a questionnaire designed to uncover a client's story. Each client who participates in the program is given a printed book of their legacy including pictures - free of charge.
The Minister’s Medal Honouring Excellence in Health Quality and Safety is a competitive, annual award program that recognizes excellent work done by health care partners across the province. Award recipients have demonstrated excellence in engaging patients as partners, as well as enhancing value and quality in our health care system.
